Before applying, please make sure you understand the following enrolment restrictions set by the course offering university:
Each student can apply and enrol in ONE VSE course offered by Yonsei University in VSE Season 1, 2025-26 only. If you have submitted two applications to Yonsei University's courses, the VSE Central Office will withdraw the SECOND application without prior notice. If you wish to change your course selection after making the first application, please make a request by emailing [email protected].

Academic Requirements
Before applying, please make sure you have fulfilled the course offering university's academic requirements listed below:
- Undergraduate/Bachelor's Degree level students who are currently enrolled full-time to their home
universities outside of Korea.
- CGPA 2.5 or above (out of 4.0).
- Must have completed two semesters at home university.
- A minimum of one semester's results from the CURRENT degree program must appear on official transcript.
- If the transcript does not show the GPA out of 4.0 scale, students are recommended to submit an official or internal grading conversion table of their home university.

Language Proficiency Requirements
Before applying, please make sure you have fulfilled the course offering university's language proficiency requirements listed below:
Either English OR Korean proficiency proof is required.
English: Either one of the followings is accepted.
- TOEFL iBT or iBT Home Edition 79 (ITP or MyBest score is NOT accepted); or
- IELTS 6.5; or
- Cambridge English Exam B2 First (FCE) ~ C2 Proficiency (CPE)
- KLAT level 4; or
- TOPIK level 4; or
- An assessment report by a professor
- From a country/region with majority speaking native English (Americas, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland): Passport is required.
- Current home university located in a country/region where a majority speak native English (Americas, United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland): N/A, but it must be specified in the transcript or Certificate of Enrolment.
- Current degree program is delivered 100% in English: Medium of Instruction letter issued by Home University is required.

| Course Description | The turbulent recent history of South Korea has produced a society that is engaged with a variety of local and global social forces in complex and contradictory ways. The sweeping social changes in South Korean society have engaged it in a struggle to redefine and re-examine itself, and its relation to such basic ideas as gender, class, tradition and nation. Contemporary films provide an especially interesting entry into these issues and how Koreans have been thinking about them.
