Course Description

The course is intended for students who do not have skills in French at the beginning of this linguistic course. These hours of training will allow students to begin with basic language skills so they can communicate in a simple way. This course aims at acquiring level A1 skills according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, in a program of approximately 60 hours of teaching-learning activities and assessment tasks. During the semester, the student will acquire a general vocabulary base, to be able to introduce him/herself, and to order at a restaurant. Vocabulary learning occurs in parallel with the phonetics of the language in order to form oral dialogues. Throughout the course, students will learn grammar rules which allow them to construct questions and simple sentences. The student will learn to express him/herself in the present tense of the indicative, and in the near future. The course develops the four necessary knowledge elements of a language: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, and writing. During the six weeks of the course, information and cultural points about France and other Francophone countries will be introduced.

Course Description

The following course is for second level students who have already completed a minimum of 60 hours of French. The course aims for the acquisition of the skills described at levels A1 and A1+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, in a 60-hour program of teaching-learning activities and assessment tasks. This course allows students to take the DELF A1 exam. The overall objectives of the course are to deepen general linguistic knowledge, and above all, to begin to use the past tenses, in particular the compound past. This is so that students can develop their skills and put them into practice in communicative situations within time and space. Such strategies, once put into practice, will facilitate understanding and communication. Vocabulary will focus on the description of spaces and the environment. The course develops the four necessary knowledge elements of a language: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, speaking, and writing. During the six weeks of the course, information and cultural points about France and other Francophone countries will be introduced.

In addition, there will be feedback and a review of everything learned in the previous levels. The course will also have state-of-the-art and appropriate teaching materials to ensure better feedback. The course is taught in Italian from the first day of class. This course will reach the Italian A1 level.
