This video is a project made by a team of two students. It focuses on “naked shopping” and its impact on climate change. To meet the target of protecting our Earth from climate change and plastic pollution, we must identify the obstacles towards naked shopping and tackle them. After some research, we identified that price and convenience are the major concerns. For example, 100g of candy at a naked shopping outlet costs HK$34, which is roughly equivalent to the minimum hourly wage in Hong Kong. High price and the lack of purchasing options are restricting naked shopping’s availability to the wider population. If these two obstacles are tackled, we can hopefully reduce more plastic packaging through naked shopping.
