| Jul 16, 2022 I 1-2pm Japan Standard Time (UTC+9) ‘Owarai’ is a general term for modern Japanese comedy acts. In this event, students will perform their original ‘manzai’ (double act comedy / stand-up comedy) that they have worked on throughout the spring semester. 16 hilarious performances will be performed in just an hour. Subtitles will be provided. |

| 25 to 29 Jul, 2022 The 2022 Summer Program on Big Data and Business Analytics is offered by the School of Management, Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT SoM), which is one of the four earliest management schools in China. Renowned senior scholars and industry professionals of information system and related areas will be invited as lecturers sharing the research methodologies and cutting-edge topics of big data and business analytics. This program aims to provide young scholars and students with the opportunity to learn from the first-tier scholars in this area and gain research expertise systematically. The participants will receive a program certificate upon successful completion of this program. The program will be conducted in English. |

| Aug 2, 2022 I 4-4:45pm Hong Kong Time (UTC+8) The emergence of big data has created tremendous opportunities for social sciences to address fundamental questions about society and human behaviour on a large scale. Computational Social Science fills this role by focusing on the use of large-scale behavioural, network and demographic data and computational analytics to understand complex social phenomena that were difficult to study using traditional social science methods. The workshop will give an introduction of this growing field, its application and significance in various disciplines. Students will learn how to apply this useful technique and make the most out of their research and develop solutions for real-world problems. |
