Eligibility

To enroll in VSE academic courses this term, you must be an undergraduate student currently studying in one of the participating universities of the VSE:

  • Chulalongkorn University
  • Keio University
  • Osaka University
  • The Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Tohoku University
  • Universidad de Chile
  • Universidad San Francisco de Quito
  • University of Oregon
  • UNSW Sydney
  • Xi’an Jiaotong University

Enroll in one academic course at the VSE (commencing in August/September 2020). If you wish to enroll in more than one course, you should seek approval from the VSE Central Office by emailing apru.vse@cuhk.edu.hk. Course enrollment is subject to final approval from your home university and the course offering university.

Academic credits will be provided by the course offering universities. Credits earned from VSE academic courses may be transferred back to the home university, subject to home university approval.

Each VSE course offering university has a specific application period.

Please also observe deadlines, if any, set by your home university for registration of VSE academic courses. To see such deadlines, please refer to your home university’s website, or contact your Study Abroad Office for details.

Points to Note When Selecting a Course

Keio University
  • Academic courses do not bear credits for VSE students. No transcripts will be provided upon successful completion.
  • When applying for academic courses offered by Keio University, please complete both the application forms of VSE and Keio University at the same time.
Osaka University
  • Academic courses do not bear credits for VSE students. No transcripts will be provided upon successful completion.
The Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Applications from CUHK students for VSE (commencing in August/September 2020) is closed due to overwhelming response.
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Academic courses are not open to students from Universidad de Chile, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and University of Oregon.
  • HKUST students taking VSE courses should check with the home university VSE coordinator for credit transferability.
Tohoku University
  • Applications from Tohoku University students for VSE (commencing in August/September 2020) is closed.
  • Academic courses are only open to students from Chulalongkorn University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, University of Oregon, UNSW Sydney and Xi’an Jiaotong University.
Universidad de Chile
  • Applications from UChile students for VSE (commencing in August/September 2020) is closed.

Fees

No additional fees are required to take VSE courses. Pay your regular tuition to your home university only. Any additional fees, if required, will be detailed under each course or program.
